Each animal in the app has its own unique story, written by knowledgeable biologists, reef guides, and experts. These descriptions not only educate but also entertain the reader by providing insights into the habits, habitats, and historical significance of the animals within Hawaiian culture. Moreover, the app provides information on how to responsibly visit the reef and become a protector of the sea.

Have you ever wondered about the identity of those beautiful yellow fish or where to find sea stars? With the app's filters for shape, color, habitat, pattern, family or phylum, and even beak size, solving these mysteries becomes a breeze! And let's not forget about the stunning photos that enrich your learning experience. Observing these clues will deepen your knowledge and connection with Hawaii's incredible marine life.

The Hawaii Sealife App consists of three sections – Explore, Learn, and Discover – each offering a distinct set of features. In the Explore section, you can search or scroll through the comprehensive critter library. The Learn section functions as a blog where you can find valuable information about safety measures, necessary equipment, sunscreen guidelines, as well as interesting facts about animals, the environment, and Hawaiian culture. In the Discover section, you can engage in entertaining search games and keep a personal journal to log your own discoveries.

Whether you are a first-time visitor or an experienced explorer of Hawaiian reefs and near shore habitats, Hawaii Sealife will undoubtedly enhance your snorkeling adventures and shoreline explorations.

The app has been created by the esteemed Reef Guardians Hawaii crew: Robin Mazor, Terry Lilley, and Jessica Rickard. Known for their educational science, cultural, and arts snorkel programs at Reef Camp on the island of Kauai, Reef Guardians is now launching its online Reef Camp Sea School.
